Saw one this morning, was disappointed by the auto and crappy sound. ATS-V wins from now on.

It would look so much better without the street cred tear drop running lights. The ATS-V looks way better for that reason, at least from the front.

Especially when you can get a new V-Sport for 15-25k less.

Sold for 86K or listed at that? Because 86K probably means no Recaros I think.

Yes, the CTS-V sounded pretty weaksauce. I was disappoint.

The CTS-V is wildly different from a Vsport. And not just the powertrain.

I agree for the most part, the tear drop LEDs look pretty sweet at night especially on a darker color car.

Probably didn't have the valves open. It's why I always leave my dealerships C7 in track mode!

They were open, it was a sales guy that brought it to C&C, so he made a point of being a sales guy about its features. I just wasnt impressed by it...

Why not? Isn't like 15k cheaper than an M5?

The M5’s lease is strongest in class making it the no brainer. The AMG’s lease at standard money factor and I don’t even want to look at the depreciation charge for an $86,000 Cadillac sedan.

Kinja'd!!! JR1 > Vzwolf
12/11/2015 at 21:22

Kinja'd!!!0

Yeah but if you plan to keep it long term the only way to go is Cadillac. Small block Chevy means parts availability. Furthermore they depreciate at the same rate as any other German sedan. Go look at prices of a 2008 Cadillac STS-V, E AMG, and M5. All the same

Kinja'd!!! JR1 > Steve in Manhattan
12/11/2015 at 21:25

15k cheaper I believe. And even if it was this is the car to have

Still, I’d like to think I can find an M5 near that price.

Long term the Cadillac is definitely the way to go.

Kinja'd!!! JR1 > Steve in Manhattan

Probably could. It's getting old they probably are not in as high demand anymore

Again - my mind races. If I got a job tomorrow that required a reverse commute and the purchase of my first car in 15 years, what would it be? I have lots of ideas, but I’m betting it would be some sort of used Volvo, my default position. Always liked the S80, and an C30 isn’t out of the question. But it’ll almost certainly never happen.

Kinja'd!!! JR1 > Steve in Manhattan

Well depending on your budget just about anything you could buy today would be a better option than what was on the market 15 years ago

True - and side curtain airbags, many more safety features, and my car would be a wifi hotspot.
